Connelly Brook, LLC is a seasonal, full-service boarding, training, and sales operation with locations on the North Shore of Massachusetts and in Ocala, Florida.

In Massachusetts, the program maintains a boutique atmosphere with approximately 12 horses, including client-owned mounts and select sale horses. The smaller scale ensures individualized care and a tailored training experience. In Ocala, the operation expands to include a broader range of services—from pasture board for retirees and horses on layup, to ponies in full training and 10–12 consignment horses. The Ocala farm also houses a few resident favorites, including a donkey who adds to the farm’s charm.

At the heart of Connelly Brook is a commitment to thoughtful, individualized training for both horse and rider. Owner and trainer Shane Powell believes in creating an environment that supports juniors and amateurs in achieving their goals—whether that means qualifying for national finals or earning year-end awards.

Connelly Brook’s training philosophy is rooted in consistency, clarity, and adaptability. Private lessons are a cornerstone of the program, allowing Shane to tailor his approach to the unique needs of each horse and rider combination. While group lessons can be valuable in a clinic setting—and Shane enjoys teaching clinics—day-to-day training at Connelly Brook focuses on one-on-one instruction to accelerate progress and build strong foundations.
